Caviard is designed to detect and redact sensitive personal information before it is sent to AI chat services like ChatGPT and DeepSeek. To accomplish this, our extension:

• Detects personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses in text you enter into supported AI chat platforms
• Temporarily stores the original text and its redacted version in your browser's local storage
• Replaces the sensitive information with anonymized alternatives before it is sent to the AI service

Important: All processing of your sensitive information occurs exclusively on your device. We do not transmit, collect, or have access to any of your sensitive information.

Local Storage

Caviard uses your browser's local storage to:

• Store mappings between original sensitive data and redacted replacements
• Save your extension preferences and settings
• Maintain separate data stores for different conversations

This data is stored only on your device and is automatically deleted after 7 days. You can also manually clear this data at any time through the extension popup.

Data Sharing and Transfer

We do not:

• Collect or transmit your sensitive information to our servers
• Sell or transfer your data to third parties
• Use your data for purposes unrelated to the extension's privacy protection function
• Use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

Authentication

If you choose to use premium features, we use Supabase for authentication. This process is governed by Supabase's privacy policy, which you can review at https://supabase.com/privacy.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect your personal data on our servers, there is no data for you to access, correct, or delete from our systems. However, you have complete control over the data stored locally by the extension:

• You can view what information is being redacted at any time
• You can manually clear all stored data through the extension popup
• You can disable the extension temporarily or permanently
• You can uninstall the extension, which will remove all locally stored data
